Nexon Co., Ltd. announced recently that “DNF ON,” the official mobile application for its popular online action game “Dungeon & Fighter (DNF),” won the Grand Prize in the culture category at the Smart App Awards 2025.
Hosted by the Korea Internet Professionals Association (KIPFA), the Smart App Awards is regarded as Korea’s most prestigious mobile app awards program. A panel of more than 4,000 internet experts evaluates nominees across 18 criteria in six categories, including visual design, UI design, technology, content, service, and marketing, to select the most innovative and outstanding mobile applications.
DNF ON is the official mobile app that lets DNF players check character progression status and asset values in real time without logging in to the game. Following a complete overhaul in 2024, the app evolved beyond a simple information-viewing tool into an “integrated management hub” that enables players to maintain a seamless gameplay experience even outside the game, offering an optimized mobile experience.
In the evaluation process, DNF ON received high praise for intuitively restructuring complex in-game data to suit mobile UX and for organically linking the game and the app, significantly enhancing gameplay efficiency. In particular, features such as “Character Check,” which analyzes equipment setups across all characters in an account to guide progression, and “Restock ON,” which provides real-time notifications for desired item listings, earned strong reviews for their technical completeness and convenience. These strengths demonstrated the app’s competitiveness as a core platform, going beyond serving as a simple companion app.
