AI-based construction quantity-takeoff automation company FOBECON (CEO Joongseok Song) announced on the 8th that it signed an MOU on November 25 with Kijun Construction to build an automated quantity-takeoff platform for wet construction work.

Through this agreement, the two companies will cooperate to advance AI-based automatic quantity takeoff technology for wet construction. Kijun Construction provides FOBECON with specialized experience in damp and waterproof construction, accumulated quantity-takeoff data, and technical know-how. FOBECON uses this data to build a joint enterprise platform that automates quantity calculations for wet construction work.

Before the official version launches, the companies work together to improve features and enhance accuracy. After the official release, Kijun Construction will continue the partnership on a paid basis to use the service. Founded in 1996, Kijun Construction specializes in masonry, plastering, tile, and form finishing. The company has nearly 30 years of history and ranks among the top contractors in wet and waterproof construction capability evaluations in Gyeonggi Province. Its recent evaluation scores rose significantly, placing it within the top five in the Gyeonggi region and the top twenty nationwide among specialized wet construction companies.

FOBECON CEO Joongseok Song said, “Cooperation with Kijun Construction, a company with strong capabilities in wet construction, raises the field applicability of our AI quantity-takeoff technology in a significant way,” and added, “We will expand the scope of automated quantity-takeoff to additional construction categories using our enterprise auto-takeoff foundation.”

Kijun Construction Vice President Jaehwan Sung said, “When our years of on-site data combine with FOBECON’s AI technology, both precision and efficiency in quantity-takeoff increase together,” and added, “We will build an automated system that works at real ordering and construction stages and strengthen our competitiveness.”

FOBECON, founded in January 2024, is a Con-Tech startup based in Pangyo Startup Campus, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by KISED and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. FOBECON uses Vision AI and proprietary algorithms to automate CAD-based quantity takeoff tasks, reducing the time from 10 hours to approximately 20 minutes. The company provides this capability as an enterprise auto-takeoff solution optimized for corporate clients.
