Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) announced on the 3rd that it signed a business agreement with DONGKOO Bio&Pharma to support technology verification and commercialization for bio and healthcare startups. GBSA begins a public-private cooperation system to support the growth of bio startups on a full-scale basis.
The signing ceremony took place at the DONGKOO Bio&Pharma headquarters, with GBSA President Hyun-gon Kim, DONGKOO Bio&Pharma Chairman Yongjoon Cho, and about ten executives from both organizations in attendance.
During the event, the two organizations shared cooperation tasks and discussed technology verification, clinical support plans, and network-building strategies for promising startups in the province.
Participants agreed that the roles of public institutions and specialized companies are becoming increasingly important as the bio startup ecosystem expands rapidly. They discussed various collaboration models, including infrastructure sharing and technology consulting.
Under the agreement, the two organizations cooperate to discover promising bio and healthcare startups, link technology verification and clinical trials, provide expert mentoring and networking, and support global market expansion.
DONGKOO Bio&Pharma plans to open its clinical trial expertise and global network, built on more than 50 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience, to startups and actively support technology validation and productization.
GBSA plans to identify high-potential bio startups through its Gyeonggi Startup Innovation Hub and Gyeonggi Bio Center and to raise commercialization success rates by offering stage-specific funding and professional consulting.
GBSA President Hyun-gon Kim said, “Through this agreement, we built a foundation that enables bio startups in the province to take a step forward in technology verification and commercialization,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation with private companies and support the growth of Gyeonggi Province’s bio industry ecosystem.”
Through this agreement, GBSA expands manufacturing and clinical infrastructure connections to raise verification success rates for early-stage biotech companies and operates growth-support programs for all stages of the corporate lifecycle to increase startups’ market entry speed and commercialization potential.
