Smilegate said it will reorganize its management structure from the current ‘group’ system to a ‘unified corporation’ structure starting January 1 next year. The reorganization merges three major affiliates—Smilegate Holdings, Smilegate Entertainment, and Smilegate RPG—into a single company to strengthen global competitiveness by pooling the group’s dispersed capabilities and resources.
Smilegate said it is pursuing a unified corporate management system to respond more swiftly to rapidly changing business environments, including global market shifts, technological transformations, and evolving user trends, and to consolidate its scattered organizational capabilities.
Smilegate plans to reinforce consistency in decision-making and build fast, powerful execution capabilities through the transition to a unified corporation system, ultimately aiming to become a leading global IP powerhouse. The company said its management support division will shift into a more advanced structure to provide stronger business support. In contrast, the development and business divisions will focus on their core expertise to drive sustainable growth in the global market.
Smilegate also said that with the launch of the unified corporation, it will provide employees with challenging opportunities to fully exercise their expertise and create an environment more conducive to positive business outcomes.
