Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggido Business and Science Accelerator (GBSA) announced on the 21st that they held the “2025 Start-Up Day Performance Sharing Meeting” on the 20th at the Gyeonggi Startup Innovation Space (Eastern Region) in Hanam, where they reviewed achievements made by startups in the eastern region this year.
The event aimed to assess the technological achievements of eastern region startups and share results from investment attraction and technology collaboration efforts, helping expand opportunities for cooperation with large and mid-sized companies.
The Gyeonggi Startup Innovation Space serves as a startup hub spanning eight regions of Gyeonggi Province, providing stage-based support to lower the early barriers startups face in technology development and commercialization.
The event welcomed 35 startups from the eastern region, along with more than 50 attendees from investment firms, large companies, and partner institutions. In the first session, five companies — Yolda Company, Careeable, Solartoz, Angel&Bee, and THERMOEYE — delivered IR pitches and introduced core technologies, including AI-based spatial solutions, voice conversion technology, and nanocoating recycling technology.
Following the pitches, GBSA and Seoul Techno Holdings signed a cooperation agreement to expand participation in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ private investment-led technology startup support program “TIPS.” Under the agreement, opportunities for eastern-region startups to join the TIPS program will expand, and connections to private investment will strengthen.
In the second session, eight open innovation collaboration cases between major domestic and global companies — including COSMAX BIO and MIX&MATCH — and startups were introduced.
During the subsequent open innovation talk concert, participants from the startup ecosystem shared their experiences and technology review processes from collaboration efforts and discussed future cooperation directions.
Key achievements of startups nurtured within the eastern region Startup Innovation Space were also highlighted. DAVAR secured an initial investment of 300 million won after gaining recognition for its circular technology and market potential in chemical recycling of polyurethane foam, and was selected for the Deep Tech TIPS program.
GBSA plans to expand its open innovation programs next year and strengthen support for investment linkage and market entry based on the collaboration cases and company needs identified at the event.
Jongbin Lim, Director of the Startup Division, said, “This performance sharing meeting provided a meaningful opportunity to confirm the investment achievements and collaboration potential of eastern region startups over the past year,” adding, “We will continue to work closely with local governments, private companies, and professional institutions to help promising startups secure a foothold for growth.”
