Naver Corp (CEO Soo Yeon Choi) adds various features that increase creator convenience to its short‑form platform ‘Clip’ and introduces a new creator reward model in line with changes in content consumption.

Naver Clip has grown into a platform where users discover trends more easily and explore content that matches their interests, supported by creator ecosystems across outdoor activities, sports, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Since August, Clip has expanded beyond short‑form videos to a platform that also gathers short‑form content such as images and text. With this change, Clip surpassed 10 million daily users in September and continues to grow.

Clip expands content exposure across the home feed, topic feed, integrated search, and Places, helping creators connect with more users. In particular, the home feed, which attracts 10 million daily visitors, increases usage as users continuously discover and explore Clip content through AI recommendations.

To align with these shifts in content consumption, Clip adds a new feed‑based reward model to the ‘Ad Incentive Program’ officially launched in August. Until now, Clip has distributed a portion of ad revenue based on valid views of content consumed within the service. The feed‑based reward model supports monetization for short‑form videos exposed in the home feed. Clip plans to run this model in a pilot format starting in November before its official rollout next year.

Clip continues to diversify its creator support programs to help creators work in a more stable environment. The platform runs various creator reward programs, including the ‘Ad Incentive Program,’ the ‘Brand Sponsorship Program’ that connects Clip creators and brands, the Smart Store‑linked affiliate model ‘Shopping Connect,’ and ‘Today Here Clip’ and seasonal challenges. Clip plans to continue preparing wide‑ranging support measures so the creative ecosystem continues to grow and high‑quality content increases.

Clip strengthens ‘information tags’ to connect users not only to content but also to other Naver services, such as Places, Shopping, and Blogs, more easily and conveniently. Actual usage continues to rise. ‘Place Tags,’ which help users record their location‑based experiences, doubled year‑over‑year. ‘Shopping Tags,’ used by business owners and creators to promote or introduce products, increased by about 350 percent year‑over‑year.

Clip added the ‘Shopping Connect’ tag in May so Clip creators participate in the affiliate model ‘Shopping Connect,’ promoting and selling Smart Store products and sharing revenue based on sales performance. With the latest update, Clip adds entertainment tags for broadcasts and films, and plans to expand the information tag categories to sports, economy, and more.

The clip also adds a verification mark indicating whether a user actually used a product or service. Creators link data, such as location visit records from Naver Reservation and Naver Pay purchase history, to increase content reliability. The clip also introduces an AI feature that analyzes location information and images in a creator’s content and automatically recommends relevant tags, improving convenience during content recording. Clip adds a ‘Place Records’ tab that gathers only content with place tags, and a ‘Shopping Records’ tab that gathers only content with shopping tags, to help users easily browse content by topic.

Ah‑young Kim, leader of Naver’s content service, says, “Through this app update, users explore trustworthy content that fits their interests and connect directly to products or places they care about, while creators link information to their content more easily with AI.” She adds, “Naver Clip will continue to respect the value of high‑quality UGC that only Naver can offer and provide fair compensation so more great content accumulates, supporting creators from multiple angles.”
