PCNC (co-CEO Duckki Jeronimo Kim), which provides AI-based integrated web and mobile reading support services, recently announced that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with AI edtech company Difinition (CEO Youngseon Sa) to develop mock tests for the KBS Literacy Exam jointly.
The agreement aims to combine both companies’ strengths in AI technology and content development to address the growing literacy decline in Korea and to establish a practical literacy-based learning assessment system. In particular, the two companies plan to co-develop AI-powered mock test content for the KBS Literacy Exam, providing literacy diagnosis and learning solutions for schools and academies.
The collaboration includes the joint design of an AI-based literacy mock test operation model, the development of AI problem-generation algorithms and technologies, and joint research on AI learning pattern analysis and diagnostic assessment models.
Focusing on Difinition’s AI problem-generation service “MoonjeG,” the two companies will jointly develop mock test content for the KBS Literacy Exam and build a cooperative business model based on mutual partnership.
The mock test content developed through this collaboration will utilize AI to analyze students’ responses to individual questions, enabling precise diagnosis of each student’s literacy level and areas of weakness.
This will allow the creation of AI-customized mock tests and feedback systems tailored to the KBS Literacy Exam, as well as provide a data-driven learning diagnosis and performance feedback environment for schools and academies.
Difinition CEO Youngseon Sa said, “Through this agreement, we will jointly develop AI-applied literacy mock test content that helps students assess their learning levels and improve their weak areas, providing a practical learning diagnosis experience. We aim to contribute to advancing the national literacy assessment system centered on our AI problem-generation platform ‘MoonjeG.’”
PCNC CEO Duckki Jeronimo Kim said, “This partnership marks an important step toward expanding into a new business model that enables practical literacy testing, in addition to developing mock tests for the KBS Literacy Exam. We will continue leveraging AI technology to build an integrated learning ecosystem that precisely supports each student’s learning journey.”
PCNC currently offers its AI-curation-based reading service, “TOAPING,” primarily to schools in Korea and as a Korean-language reading education platform globally. As of August 2025, it serves 480 schools and 63,000 students. The company has generated sales in Canada and Japan and is pursuing partnerships in Germany, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand. The TOAPING service was selected for the 2025 Digital Innovation Awards and received a special award from Japan’s 1Edtech.
