Founded in February 2024, f862 Inc. (CEO Jiwon Choi) is a company that merges content with AI technology to bring “scenes from movies” back to life as new digital assets. Soon after its establishment, f862 demonstrated its technological and execution capabilities by leading a massive 28-year archiving project for the Busan International Film Festival, quickly earning attention within Korea’s video industry.
Currently, f862 operates three core businesses: the stock content distribution platform f862 STOCK, the AI-based metadata search and labeling service Call2M, and the AI video generation platform AiKINO.
Among them, AiKINO stands out as an innovative platform that lets users produce cinematic videos with a single click, offering exclusive stock content based on real movie scenes. It features expert-designed prompt templates that incorporate cinematography techniques, lighting, and camera movements, enabling anyone to create high-quality videos easily.
The idea for f862 originated from the film festival scene. Each year, thousands of films are submitted, but only a small fraction are screened. Countless valuable scenes are buried and go unused—an inefficiency that limits the cultural and economic potential of film content. Meanwhile, there has been steady demand from creators and businesses wanting to produce videos but lacking equipment or professional staff.
f862 decided to bridge these two worlds—reviving unused film scenes as the “starting materials” for new creativity. The goal was to build an ecosystem where anyone could create premium-quality videos using existing cinematic resources. What began as a stock content platform evolved into an integrated structure combining AI-based search and generation technologies.
The company’s current main target is general users who are new to AI video generation. With an intuitive interface that requires no special equipment or expertise, users can create professional-level videos in just a few clicks.
In the near future, f862 plans to expand its focus to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Many of these companies seek cost-efficient, rapid alternatives to outsourced video production and have growing needs for low-cost, high-speed solutions for advertising A/B testing. By addressing both individual creators and SMBs, f862 aims to build a “video creation democratization platform” that covers the entire demand curve.
Japan will be f862’s first overseas market. With its active independent film scene and high demand for video and animation, Japan presents strong potential. f862 plans to form partnerships with local distributors and production companies to secure exclusive content and to collaborate with advertising agencies and SMBs to promote its AI-based video creation solutions.
In the second half of 2025, f862 plans to advance its technology through follow-up investments and participation in the TIPS program, while also pursuing open innovation projects (POC) with major domestic corporations. By 2027, the company aims to launch a global beta service and achieve stable revenue growth.
Located in Pangyo Techno Valley—the nation’s largest innovation cluster where IT, content companies, and investors converge—f862 benefits from close access to major production companies in Seoul and the metropolitan area, as well as public support infrastructure from organizations such as the Gyeonggi Content Agency. This environment provides an ideal foundation for startups to grow and expand globally.
Jiwon Choi, CEO of f862, said, “We believe that movie scenes are not just records of the past but assets for future creation. f862 will continue to grow as a company that expands the possibilities of art through technology.”
