The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI) is positioning itself as a central hub for investment and cooperation in the climate industry through “Gyeonggi Province Climate Technology Conference 2025,” a specialized event for climate technology in Gyeonggi Province.
The conference will take place from October 23 to 24 at Gyeonggi Convergence Town (the 3rd floor of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation) in Suwon. Hosted by Gyeonggi Province and co-organized by GCCEI and the Gyeonggi Environmental Energy Agency, the event will bring together over 500 participants, including domestic and international climate tech startups, global investors, representatives of international organizations, and major corporations.
Under the theme “The Era of Climate Economy: Now Is the Time to Invest in Climate Tech,” the conference aims to connect technological innovation and finance to present pathways for sustainable industrial transformation.
At this year’s conference, GCCEI will lead two key programs—“Carbon Neutral Fund Investment Pitching Day” and “Climate Tech Seminar”—to promote investment and spread trends in the climate tech sector. During the “Carbon Neutral Fund Investment Pitching Day,” ten early-stage and growth-stage startups will deliver IR pitches to investors, presenting innovative climate tech solutions with strong technological and market potential. Following the pitching session, one-on-one investment meetings with private fund managers will take place, leading to concrete investment discussions.
The “Climate Tech Seminar” will open with a welcoming address by Matt Daesoo Kim, Management Director of GCCEI, followed by presentations and discussions by various experts, including Professor Jong Dae Kim (Inha University) on “Changes in Climate Finance Policies,” Gowoon Choi, Team Leader at Korea Development Bank, on “Startup Investment through ESG Finance,” and Dongwoo Kim, Manager at Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, on “Linking Local Government Green Finance and Credit Guarantees.” The seminar will serve as a platform to explore the future direction of the climate tech industry and potential public-private cooperation, drawing significant attention from participants.
A GCCEI representative said, “Climate tech cannot grow through technological innovation alone—it requires integration with finance and policy. The center will continue to actively support climate tech startups to become top-tier companies that can compete not only in Korea but also in the global market.”
Meanwhile, GCCEI, together with Gyeonggi Province, is currently running the “Gyeonggi Province Climate Tech Startup Development Program,” which aims to identify and nurture 100 promising climate tech startups over 2024-2026.
The program’s goal is to foster global climate tech unicorns that can lead climate crisis response and create new industrial ecosystems through customized support across all stages, from technology advancement and business model enhancement to investment attraction and global expansion.
