NAVER Cloud has officially launched the Taiwanese service of ‘LINE WORKS’ (known as NAVER WORKS in Korea), a business chat platform that has ranked No. 1 in Japan’s paid business chat market for eight consecutive years. Following its success in Japan, Taiwan has become the second global market for LINE WORKS, with plans to expand further into Southeast Asia.
Since its debut in Japan in 2016, LINE WORKS has held the top market share in Japan’s paid business messenger segment for eight consecutive years since 2017, according to the Fuji Chimera Research Institute. Its design—an all-in-one mobile messaging platform tailored for Japan’s industry structure with many sales and field workers—has proven particularly effective.
In Taiwan, LINE WORKS will serve as the only collaboration tool integrated with LINE, enabling unified internal and external communication to enhance work efficiency. With robust security features, it supports safe collaboration between LINE and LINE WORKS users, offering enterprise-friendly tools such as file and group management to enhance productivity and convenience. Localization efforts include compliance with Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, support for New Taiwan Dollar (NTD) payments, and customer service and content in Traditional Chinese, all optimized for the local user environment.
Taiwan’s SaaS market for remote work and collaboration continues to grow, with messaging-based workflows being the most active. However, as many companies still rely on free personal messengers, the need for paid, secure collaboration tools to ensure business data protection and continuity is rapidly increasing.
