NEOWIZ (Co-CEOs Seungchul Kim and Taegeun Bae) announced on the 24th the offline launch of the slot game Shin Soo Man Bok, developed in collaboration with Kangwon Land. The game is now available as a slot machine in casino venues.
Shin Soo Man Bok is an online slot game originally available on NEOWIZ’s platform, Pimang New Vegas. It features themes inspired by three mythical guardians—Jin Long (golden dragon), Fenghuang (phoenix), and Xiezhi (mythical lion)—who symbolize luck and prosperity. Slot games involve placing bets by inserting coins or credits, spinning the reels, and receiving prizes based on the results.
The newly launched Shin Soo Man Bok slot machine marks its debut in offline casinos as part of the 2022 content sales agreement between NEOWIZ and Kangwon Land. NEOWIZ contributed to the game’s software development, including design, planning, and art resources, while Kangwon Land handled the hardware and software engineering of the slot machine.
This release represents a groundbreaking collaboration between a private company and a public institution to commercialize software-based products in South Korea’s casino game market. It highlights the synergy between NEOWIZ’s strong gaming software capabilities and Kangwon Land’s expertise in offline casino operations.
A NEOWIZ representative stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Kangwon Land to bring a popular online slot game to offline casinos. We plan to leverage both companies’ strengths to deliver diverse content and services, targeting the domestic and global slot markets.”
Following the launch of the Shin Soo Man Bok slot machine, NEOWIZ is determined to expand into the global slot market, which was estimated to be worth approximately $10.4 billion in 2023.
