Gyeonggi-do Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) announced notable results from the ‘2024 Pyeongtaek City Women’s Enterprise Competitiveness Enhancement Support Project’ in partnership with Pyeongtaek City. Participating companies saw a combined sales increase of 5.65 billion KRW.
The project offers customized support to help women-owned businesses in Pyeongtaek enhance product competitiveness, obtain domestic and international certifications, and expand sales channels according to their growth stages.
GBSA and Pyeongtaek City invested a total project budget of 100 million KRW, providing tailored assistance such as management consulting, product commercialization, marketing, and workplace environment improvements. Eight selected companies received up to 11 million KRW each.
One standout success story is Hyclor (CEO Hyuntaek Kim), a manufacturer of sodium hypochlorite generators. Through participation in events like the ‘Comprehensive Water Technology Workshop and Exhibition,’ the company secured over 4.5 billion KRW in contracts for water disinfection equipment used in municipal water facility modernization projects.
Bon-hyun Koo, Director of Hyclor, said, “We significantly enhanced our product competitiveness through exhibition participation and customized consulting. We expect to secure additional private-sector orders worth over 12 billion KRW.”
Other participating companies achieved ISO certifications, outstanding recognition of procurement products, and increased credibility in the market. Collectively, they reported an 11 billion KRW revenue boost and improvements in their business environments.
Gwang-Yong Jeong, Head of the Balanced Opportunities Division at GBSA, stated, “The growth of women-owned businesses creates jobs for women and contributes significantly to local economic development. We will continue expanding business consultations and providing demand-driven, customized support to foster a sustainable ecosystem for women entrepreneurs.”
