Airbility (CEO Jinmo Lee, Taekyu Reu) won the Excellence Award at the ‘Challenge! K-Startup 2024’ finals, securing a prize of 60 million KRW.
‘Challenge! K-Startup’ is a startup competition organized by 10 government ministries, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This year, 6,238 teams participated. During the finals, held on December 12 at Coex, top teams selected through rigorous evaluations presented their innovative business models in a competitive environment. Airbility impressed the judges with its futuristic and differentiated technologies, including vertical takeoff and landing electric aircraft (eVTOL) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) solutions.
In September, Airbility won the grand prize at the ‘Gyeonggi Startup Contest,’ earning 30 million KRW. Its continued success in Challenge! K-Startup further validated its technological capabilities and business potential.
Airbility offers aviation mobility solutions applicable across various industries such as logistics, surveillance and reconnaissance, and military supplies, using proprietary technologies like fixed-wing-based vertical takeoff and landing systems and distributed electric fan-jet propulsion. Aiming for global market entry, the company focuses on technological development and business expansion, and it is planning to pursue more aggressive innovation following this award.
An Airbility representative said, “We are delighted that our technological capabilities and vision have been recognized through consecutive successes in startup competitions. Based on this award, we will strive to create new value in the global aviation mobility market and provide sustainable future mobility solutions.”
