Mr.Mind Inc.’s care robot ‘Chorongi’ has recently been registered as an innovative product by South Korea’s Public Procurement Service (PPS). This recognition highlights Chorongi’s technological innovation and public service value, aligning with procurement policies to enhance public services through innovation.
This achievement follows the company’s prior certification from Venture Nara as a ‘Venture Start-up Innovative Product.’ The PPS designation further underscores Chorongi’s advanced technology and innovation capabilities.
Chorongi goes beyond being a simple care device by serving as a conversational companion for seniors, strengthening emotional bonds. Integrated with Chat GPT 4.0, proprietary natural language processing (NLP) technology, motion detection sensors, and a centralized risk detection management system, Chorongi understands various situations and emotions, enabling empathetic interactions. This contributes to reducing loneliness and preventing dementia among elderly users.
Unlike the Venture Nara certification, public institutions can purchase PPS-certified innovative products directly through the Innovation Marketplace platform. They are eligible for non-competitive contracts for three years under relevant procurement laws, including Article 26 of the National Contract Act and Article 25 of the Local Contract Act, simplifying adoption by public agencies.
Additionally, PPS-registered products gain access to pilot purchasing projects, while buyers are legally protected under Article 27 of the Public Procurement Act. This provides public institutions with legal assurance when acquiring innovative products.
Mr.Mind’s care robot, Chorongi, is expected to transform elderly and disabled care services. Its user-friendly design and advanced technologies ensure safe and efficient care, contributing to greater social value.
Dongwon Kim, CEO of Mr.Mind Inc., stated, “With this innovative product registration, Mr.Mind will strengthen its presence in the public sector while improving the quality of care services. We plan to explore diverse ways Chorongi can contribute to public service enhancements.”
