The '2024 Pangyo Global Media MeetUp,' targeting the Japanese and Vietnamese markets, occurred on December 10 at the Gyeonggi Startup Campus. Organized by Pangyo Techno Valley TV, the event featured Japan's tech media Gadgetouch and Vietnam's state-run media Vietnam Plus, highlighting innovative technologies and achievements of Pangyo-based companies.
Brain Ventures (CEO Wonhoi Kim), participating in the event, introduced its AI-powered webtoon translation and lettering automation solution during an interview with Japan’s Gadgetouch.
Since its founding in 2020, Brain Ventures has emerged as a key player in the global webtoon market by developing AI-based webtoon translation and lettering automation solutions.
The company’s integrated AI solution for webtoon OCR, translation, and high-resolution lettering overcomes the limitations of manual processes, significantly reducing costs and time while improving translation quality and visual consistency.
In 2024, Brain Ventures established a Japanese subsidiary with support from a global startup commercialization program. Partnering with Japanese webtoon publishers, the company strengthened its presence in Asia’s rapidly growing webtoon market by offering tailored localization solutions.

Expanding into the North American market is also a top priority. As the world’s largest content consumption market, North America has a growing demand for webtoon translation and localization targeting English-speaking readers. Brain Ventures plans to promote its technology and build partnerships by participating in major exhibitions, including Comic-Cons in San Diego and New York.
The company is also exploring entry into the European market. Brain Ventures is in discussions with major publishers and platforms in the UK and France using networks established through the Gyeonggi International Webtoon Fair. Vietnam has become a key hub in Southeast Asia due to its rapidly growing webtoon consumption, and Brain Ventures is collaborating with local businesses there.
Brain Ventures helps webtoon creators and distributors gain a competitive edge in the global market with specialized webtoon OCR technology, character-driven translation engines, and high-resolution image synthesis.
