EBS Square Inc., a secondary battery materials and equipment specialist, has been selected for the 6th round of the Tech Incubator Program for Startups (TIPS), organized by South Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This selection provides the company up to 500 million KRW in R&D funding and additional support for commercialization and international marketing.

TIPS is a public-private partnership program that fosters startups with innovative technologies. Under the program, startups receive initial investment from private operators, which the government matches with R&D funding. This recognition strengthens EBS Square’s position and enhances its global technological competitiveness.

EBS Square, based in the Pangyo Startup Zone, was founded by a professor with over 20 years of industry experience. The company leads in secondary battery materials and equipment innovation. Its core products include nano-silicon anode materials for EVs and IT devices, carbon quantum dot conductive additives, hybrid solid electrolytes, and eco-friendly high-energy dry process equipment. These products aim to overcome the performance limits of lithium-ion batteries.

The TIPS project awarded to EBS Square focuses on “Nano-Silicon Anode Technology Development for Lithium-Ion and Solid-State Batteries.” Industry officials anticipate this innovation significantly improves battery performance, including faster charging and extended lifespans.

An EBS Square representative stated, “Being selected for TIPS enables us to accelerate our development of cutting-edge technologies. We are determined to overcome the limitations of lithium-ion batteries and secure a competitive edge in the global market.”

With the TIPS program, EBS Square will expand its advanced technologies and products to international markets. In a time when battery safety is paramount, the company’s next-generation silicon anode technology is expected to gain significant attention both domestically and abroad.
