Kangsters, a wheelchair exercise solutions specialist based in Pangyo Techno Valley, has partnered with Nissin Korea, a wheelchair-focused company, to launch the ultra-lightweight active wheelchair K-MS II, designed for enhanced portability and usability.
The K-MS II aims to alleviate daily challenges for wheelchair users. It features a detachable footrest for easy transfers, a dual-direction brake, and an ultra-light aluminum frame. Made from high-strength 3mm aluminum, the frame weighs 12.7 kg, a significant advantage for users who prioritize mobility and convenience.
John Jungheum Cho, Vice President of Kangsters, commented, “All wheelchair users desire a lightweight and sturdy wheelchair. We have developed a convenient and lightweight wheelchair by integrating feedback gathered from close communication with users. We hope the K-MS II will make a practical difference in users’ daily activities.”
Available in wine, black, and silver, the K-MS II offers customization options such as titanium hand rims, carbon guards, Tannus solid tires, and Spinergy wheels. Depending on their disability rating, users in South Korea can receive up to 1 million KRW in subsidies for the K-MS II through the National Health Insurance Service’s assistive device program.
In addition, Kangsters recently launched Wheely-X Play, an expandable game solution that includes eight sports games, such as wheelchair racing, skiing, and gliding. This has drawn interest from wheelchair users, disability associations, and welfare centers. Selected as an official event for the National Disabled eSports Competition, Wheely-X aims to advance to the global Paralympic eSports arena, foster the domestic wheelchair eSports foundation, and promote a barrier-free culture.
