AhnLab (CEO Suk Kyoon Kang) held an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) lecture on September 30, inviting Kakao’s Digital Accessibility Officer (DAO), Hyeil Kim, to speak on the topic of “Digital Accessibility for IT Companies.”

The lecture covered various topics, including accessibility, strategies for IT companies to address accessibility, related regulations, and best practices for enhancing accessibility.

Hyeil Kim emphasized, “To make a company’s products and services accessible to more people, it is essential first to understand the various types of disabilities.” He urged attendees to focus on digital accessibility and continuously seek continuous improvement measures.

In addition to the lecture, AhnLab hosted an event to raise awareness about disabilities, including an experience session where participants created tactile Braille books.

Inch Beom, Senior Vice President of AhnLab’s Sustainability Management Team, stated, “We will continue to make various efforts, such as lectures, information sharing, and experiential events, further to enhance our employees’ understanding of digital accessibility.”

Since the end of 2021, AhnLab has been running an employee education program by inviting internal and external experts from various ESG fields. The company has held over 20 lectures on carbon neutrality, climate crisis, biodiversity, human rights management, diversity, disability awareness, fair trade, and anti-corruption laws. These lectures are live-streamed for internal viewing, and employees can access the recordings anytime through the company’s internal portal.
