Pangyo Evening Meetup, where IT professionals from Pangyo Techno Valley can freely gather for networking after work, is set to take place again on September 25th. The meetup will be held at the Pangyo Startup Campus, where active IT professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs will gather to share the latest technology trends and information and collaborate.
The ‘Pangyo Evening Meetup’ takes place every last Wednesday of the month. It is mainly attended by professionals in their 20s and 30s working in Pangyo. In collaboration with Inflearn, the leading online IT learning platform in Korea, this event is held 11 times a year with about 600 participants. The format combines seminars and networking, where IT practitioners directly present and share practical insights through Q&A sessions.
The 6th Pangyo Evening Meetup, held at the end of August last year, focused on ‘Front-End Development.’ About 62 developers participated, sharing information and discussing various front-end technologies and tools. The presentation session shared the latest front-end trends and practical tips, especially on asynchronous processing and performance optimization, which received great responses from the attendees.
After the meetup, the networking time allowed participants to freely communicate, share their experiences, and explore possibilities for collaboration. Many attendees expressed high satisfaction, saying they “could learn practical knowledge and the latest industry trends that are hard to come by in their daily jobs.”
The 7th Pangyo Evening Meetup, scheduled for September 25th, will be themed ‘Collaborating on Open Source Contributions—A story of helping 100 developers create over 100 open source PRs and changing the world together.’ About 60 participants are expected at this event, and 413 applicants have already registered, recording a competition ratio of 8.26:1.
At this event, developer Kim In-je from NAVER LINE will present, emphasizing ways to contribute to open-source projects and their importance. He intends to highlight how collaboration can bring significant changes through his experience creating over 150 open-source PRs (Pull Requests) with more than 120 developers.
Future events will continue to be held at the end of each month until December, and those wishing to participate can secure a spot through pre-registration. The ‘Pangyo Evening Meetup’ for young professionals in the IT industry, where they can share experiences and find new opportunities, is becoming a landmark community event in Pangyo.
