After its establishment in 2018, EVAR attracted initial investments from Naver D2SF and Schmidt and recently attracted 22 billion won worth of Series B investments from KDB Development Bank, Samsung Securities-SBI Investment, DSC Investment-Schmidt, Inviting Partners, Hanwha Investment & Securities, and Japan’s ORIX.
EVAR’s “Smart EV Charger 2023,” which will be introduced at CES 2024, is currently the world’s largest smart load-balancing charging infrastructure, supplying about 20,000 units nationwide. It can reduce the facility and operating costs of the charging infrastructure by up to 80% by installing a “Dynamic Load Balancing” function, which allows multiple chargers to effectively share electricity within limited power resources.
In particular, EVAR’s Smart EV Charger 2022 won the CES 2022 Innovation Award in the “Smart City” and “Sustainability, Eco Design & Smart Energy” categories and is the first in the industry to win a single product in two categories at the same time. EVAR has won five innovation awards for two consecutive years since 2022, drawing attention from the industry.
“Smart EV Charger 2023” which EVAR will introduce together, is the industry’s first slow charger equipped with a smart fire detection solution. When a fire is detected, the device can immediately stop charging and send a fire alarm to a control center connected to the server to speed up the initial response to electric vehicle fires. In addition, Bluetooth BT PnC (Bluetooth Plug and Charge) technology has implemented an application or card-free charging experience to enhance user convenience.
Currently, EVAR is rapidly growing on the global stage. After supplying its products to Canada in June 2022, it recently signed a business agreement with Blink Charging Co., a Nasdaq-listed company in the U.S., to discuss cooperation in supplying home and public chargers starting in South America by 2024. Blink Charging Co. is an electric vehicle charging service company that contracts and supplies 85,000 charging ports worldwide and operates charging stations.
