Wearable safety equipment 'SAFEWARE' showcases 'K-Safety Technology' during the visit of the Thailand Joint Public-Private Economic Delegation

SafeWare, a leading company specializing in human safety solutions (CEO Shin Hwan-cheol), welcomed the Thailand Joint Public-Private Economic Delegation, led by Nattapol Rangsitpo, Permanent Deputy-Minister of the Thai Ministry of Industry, at SafeWare’s headquarters in the corporate support hub in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

This visit, organized under the Asian Productivity Organization’s (APO) industrial training program, was part of the Thai delegation’s trip to South Korea. The aim was to gain insights into excellent business models and improve competitiveness by leveraging Korean government-supported technology programs and industrial digital technology innovations.

SafeWare showcased its industrial-grade smart airbag C3 to the Thai delegation. The demonstration highlighted SafeWare’s pioneering smart safety technologies, which include sensors that detect falls using precision motion detection algorithms, proprietary electronic inflators, and an IoT platform technology that relays the location and status of the accident victim. Furthermore, IoT integration testing with the safety monitoring platform, ‘Hulan,’ complemented the C3 demonstration.

SafeWare’s C3, developed and manufactured exclusively with domestic technology, is a wearable safety device designed to mitigate severe injuries from worker falls and accidents. Equipped with an integrated detection sensor, the device triggers an electronic inflator to inflate the airbag within 0.2 seconds when a fall is detected. This swift response provides protection to sensitive areas like the head, neck, cervical spine, and pelvis that are prone to severe injuries.

In an accident, the sensor communicates the location and situation to the designated emergency contacts, thereby securing the crucial window of opportunity for rescuing the wearer. The sensor can operate continuously for over 120 hours on a full charge, and the airbag can be reused by swapping out the carbon dioxide (CO2) cartridge.

Jang Sung-hwan, Head of SafeWare’s Global Business Division, stated, “The Thai economic delegation, including Nattapol Rangsitpo, Permanent Deputy-Minister of the Thai Ministry of Industry, uniquely visited SafeWare as the only startup and experienced our smart safety technology. This visit has led to a high evaluation of our technology, which focuses on protecting human lives among K-startups’ technologies. We anticipate SafeWare will serve as a springboard for promoting the value of K-Safety Technology to the world.”

Notably, SafeWare clinched a gold medal (first prize) at the esteemed Edison Awards, a global invention competition hosted in the United States.
